AEquitas partners with American University's Justice Programs Office on its U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) funded project, Maximizing OVC’s Survivor Assistance in Court Settings (MOSAICS).
MOSAICS takes a holistic approach to the provision of training and technical assistance (TTA), bringing together all court system actors in a jurisdiction to develop cohesive solutions. TTA is individually designed for the needs of each jurisdiction and led by some of the nation’s foremost labor and sex trafficking experts, including AEquitas Attorney Advisors. MOSAICS is also informed by a survivor advisory board to ensure that the project is guided by the lived experiences and knowledge of survivors of both labor and sex trafficking.
MOSAICS is a three-year project created to assist courts in implementing trauma-responsive policies to better identify survivors of human trafficking, provide legal and social services tailored to their needs, and reduce the infliction of harm in court proceedings.
